Max Scherzer wins, improves record to 12-0

Last night, June 28, 2013, Max Scherzer pitched seven strong innings for the Detroit Tigers. He earned the victory allowing just three runs on four hits, and while winning last night was important for his team (after they were swept at home by the Los Angeles Angels earlier in the week) Max was able to make a little history of his own. He is the first Tigers hurler to start a season 12-0 and the first pitcher to start a season this impressively since Roger Clemons did it in 1986.
Not to bad for a guy on a one year deal making 6.725 million dollars for the 2013 season. By way of comparison the "ace" of the Tigers staff Justin Verlander is making 20 million dollars this season. Max has four more wins than Verlander along with 21 more strike outs and 13 more innings pitched. Max has almost a full point better ERA as well, brining into question who is the actual ace of this staff.
